Qatar 2022: African teams don’t show enough personality – Former Al-Nussoor striker, Ijah

The former Super Eagle striker, Peter Ige, is not happy with the performance of the African teams in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which is currently taking place in Qatar.

Africa’s five representatives failed to win their first group match in the competition.

The Senegal Teranga Lions made amends with a 3-1 win over hosts Qatar on Friday.

Aliu Cesia’s side will need to beat Ecuador in their last group match to book their place in the round of 16.

But Tunisia faces elimination from the competition after losing 1-0 to Australia’s Socceroos on Saturday afternoon.

Tunisia comes at the bottom of Group D, with one point from two matches.

Igeh believes that African teams have not done enough in the competition.

“African teams didn’t show enough of the character we used to see in the past, it’s a pity,” Ege told The Telegraph.

Morocco will play a match against Belgium on Sunday.
