Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed how he dealt with the criticism he received on television from former Premier League stars.
These former Premier League stars, who are now talking about football from various sports TV and podcast channels, are always criticizing the players.
Cristiano Ronaldo recently fell out with his former Manchester United teammates, Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville after they criticized him for setting a bad example.
While Ronaldo took the criticism back at his former teammates in an interview with Piers Morgan, Wilshere said he once called out legend Paul Scholes in response to negative remarks made by the former Red Devils midfielder.
“I’ve had some comments from ex-players on TV, once from Jamie Redknapp and then from Paul Scholes,” the former England midfielder told The Sun.
“So I called them. With Jimmy that was when I would come back from injury,” added Wilshere, noting that he told Redknapp he also had injuries during his playing days.
“he is [Redknapp] He was very respectful and said he didn’t really think of it that way.”
“When he tried out for Paul Scholes, he was really good when I called him, and he ended up helping me.”
Wilshere, who retired from football at the age of 30 due to injury, is now the coach of the Arsenal Under-18s.
