Senate Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Federal Finance, Budget and National Planning, has threatened Mr. Mofutao Bello with an arrest warrant by next week if he fails to provide sensitive documents relating to the disbursement of Service Votes Wide, SWV and missing N113 Million on Salary Amendment for Joint Admission Board Admission Certificate, JAMB

Specifically, the upper legislature, through its Public Accounts Committee on Tuesday, gave it a 48-hour ultimatum to do the trick.

The chair of the committee, chaired by Senator Matthew Urhogide (PDP Edo South), reported that a letter of attendance was sent to the ministry on 20 October 2022 which was received on 21 October also requesting details of deployments to all ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs including the police and armed forces .

It was also learned that another letter was sent to the Ministry on December 8, 2022, regarding the issue related to the missing JAMB salary increase of N113 million.

A record from the Office of the Accountant General of the Union, OAGF revealed that N113 million was released to JAMB in May 2017 for salary increase.

In the letter, the ministry was invited to provide clarification on the matter raised in the committee room on Tuesday, but ministry officials did not attend.

JAMB Director of Finance and Accounts Mufutau Bello, representing the agency, claimed that N113 million had not been released to them, arguing that if the funds were released it would be cut across all MDAs using CONLESS throughout the year.

Angered by the absence of the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Senator Uruguayed has given him 48 hours to appear and submit relevant documents to the committee or face an arrest warrant by next week.

“The ministry officials have to appear before the committee by Thursday this week, because JAMB denied knowing about the release. We want to communicate with them in your presence, the cash management office should appear before this committee. This amount was used to settle the salary settlement,” the chairman said. for the year 2017″.

He added that the permanent secretary’s failure to appear on Thursday would result in an arrest warrant being issued by next week.
