Serie A: Beat Juventus by 15 points

The National Football Association (FIGC) confirmed that, on Friday, an Italian football court deducted 15 points from Juventus for the current season.

It is a punishment harsher than the nine-point deduction requested by the Football General Prosecutor earlier in the day during a hearing, which looked at the way the Italian giants and a number of other clubs dealt with player exchange deals.

Juventus currently ranks third on the table with 37 points, ten points behind leaders Napoli, with 20 matches remaining.

The opponent sees them drop to 10th place.

The court also imposed bans on 11 former and current managers of Juventus.

This included 24 months for Andrea Agnelli, who was replaced as chairman this week after stepping down in November, and 30 months for former sporting director Fabio Paracci, who is now managing director of football at Tottenham Hotspur.

Juventus said it would appeal to the country’s Sport Assurance Board once the reasons for the ruling were published.
