Ademola Lookman is determined to defeat his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, to claim the top scorer award in Serie A this season.
No African player has ever won this honor in the annals of Serie A.
Osimhen and Lookman currently occupy the first and second positions on the chart.
Napoli striker, Osimhen has scored 13 goals in 15 league matches.
On the other hand, Lookman scored 11 goals in 18 matches with Atalanta.
However, the 25-year-old is confident he can turn the tables against his international team-mate.
“I was thinking about the future, you can get caught up in the future and the future will always come, but right now it’s the most important,” Lookman told The Athletic.
“No, not when he (Osimhen) is on top of you, anyway.
“I’ll catch him, not me, I will.”
The duo will be in action with their clubs this weekend.
