Nigerian Railways NRC says Abuja-Kaduna commuter train service will resume on Monday, with only two return services.
The Director General of the National Reconciliation Committee, Fidel Akheria, made the revelation in a statement to the Daily Post on Saturday.
The first train service is scheduled to depart Rigasa train in Kaduna by 08:00 am to Abuja while in Abuja, it will depart Edo train station to Kaduna by 09:30 am, the statement explained.
NRC management has confirmed that as part of the new security measures, it is now necessary for passengers to present their national identification number and boarding pass before they are allowed to board.
The NRC also said it would not allow the sale of tickets by proxy, except for minors.
She added that ticket sales will begin on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 8:00 am.
Remember, the Norwegian Refugee Council suspended train services along the route after Boko Haram terrorists attacked a moving passenger train in Kaduna on March 28, 2022.
