The Anambra government is investigating the case of a woman being murdered by her husband over bread

The Anambra State Government has launched an investigation into the death of Ogochukwu Anene who was allegedly murdered by her husband, Wilson Owadego.

Effie Obinabo, Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, spoke on Wednesday in her office in Oka while receiving the mother of the deceased, Dame Cordelia Anene.

Ogochukwu Anene, better known as Ada Oka, was beaten to death by her husband over a loaf of bread.

Obinabo said the state government is cooperating with the Enugu government in the investigation to achieve justice.

“The deceased is from Anambra, the state government will not be silent about the unfortunate incident.”

The commissioner promised that the authorities would ensure that a thorough investigation was conducted and concluded in record time.

Upinabo urged women in abusive marriages to always speak up and seek help instead of dying in silence.

The distressed Lady Cordelia stated that the husband fled immediately after he had done this act.
