The break: Peter Obi takes the lead early on the plateau
Labor presidential candidate Peter Obi took an early lead in Plateau State.
Announcing the result, Professor Noel Wonnang, staff member of the Barkin Ladi LGA, said the exercise was peaceful and there was no challenge.
Wonnang announced that Labor Party candidate Peter Obi received 32,489 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu receiving 12,514 votes, while PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar received 9,073 votes.
Also, in the LGA Riom, Labor candidate Peter Obi polled 15,171 to defeat his closest rival Atiku who received 8,181 votes.
While the APC candidate, Tinubu, received 6,936 votes.
In the Mikang LGA, Atiku Abubakar received 7,211 votes defeating his closest rival, Peter Obi of the Workers’ Party who received 7,201 votes.
While the candidate of the General People’s Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, got 5044 votes.
As of the time of submission of this report, only the three local bodies mentioned above have been declared public.
