The governor of Abia State, Okyezi Ekpezu, said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor, Oshie Ikon, is ill.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) confirmed that Ikpetu confirmed this on Monday on a local radio programme.
But the governor emphasized that Akon is “gradually and gradually recovering”.
He noted that the flag-bearer has attended some rallies, including the launch of the PDP campaign last November at Umuahia Township Stadium.
“It is unfortunate that he has become restless lately,” said Ikpezu, who is a member of the Five Nations’ rulers’ group.
“I want to report some progress and the progress is that Akon is gradually recovering,” he said.
Ikpetho revealed that the candidate left the hospital while he was convalescing.
“It will be strong enough in the future to join,” said the governor.
Ikpezu told the residents that Ikon would return soon, accusing the “detractors” of wishing his absence would remain.
Appia’s commander referred to “permutations” and “assigning positions to themselves” during his illness.
“I’m sure they even assigned my wife to themselves,” he added.
There is speculation and concern about Akon’s health due to his lack of public appearances.
The Professor of Optometry has held the position of the 7th Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University (ABSU), Utoro.
“The candidate of the Appiah PDP is sick, they even took my wife,” Ikpiazu assures
