The Federal High Court in Abuja has removed Ralph Nwoso’s leadership of the African Democratic Congress, annulling all actions taken by the Executive Committee from August 21 to date.
Also on Tuesday, Justice Binta Nyako confirmed Sen. Patricia Akwashiki as the party’s original national chair, Nunn reports.
Akwashiki’s lawyer, Mr Benson Igbanoi, said that under the court order, the actions of the CEO led by Nwosu between August 21 and December 20 were invalid.
He said these measures, including the impeachment of the presidential candidate, Mr. Dombe Cacheco, had been nullified.
According to him, the court, after perusing the constitution of the ADC, held that the party was committed to its existing constitution, and therefore, the actions taken by the defendants were unconstitutional, null and void, and had no legal effect whatsoever.
The case was initiated by an original subpoena filed August 30, 2022.
