The General Manager of Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign Council, Dwayne Okobi, was sentenced by the Federal High Court in Abuja to two years in prison for breaching the Money Laundering Act.
The ruling was delivered on Monday by the presiding judge, Ijuma Ojukwu.
The court found Okobi guilty of 26 of the 59 charges that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) preferred against him.
Ojukwu sentenced Okobe to two years in prison on each of the charges against him.
However, the court said the ruling applies concurrently.
The judge gave Okupe the option of paying a fine of N500,000 on each of the charges – totaling around N13 million.
