The court’s ruling is contrary to the will of the people – Osun PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) rejected the ruling of the Osun State Governor Election Court which impeached Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The PDP said the ruling went against the will of the people of Osun.

The ruling party insisted in a statement issued by its secretary for national propaganda, Dipo Ologonagpa, on Friday that Adeleke’s victory was legal.

The People’s Democratic Party claimed that the will of the people of Osun was expressed through the overwhelming votes of her party and Adelek in the elections.

The statement reads in part; “The gubernatorial election of Osun State on July 16, 2022 was considered by local and international observers to be free, fair and transparent and was clearly won by the People’s Democratic Party and our gubernatorial candidate Ademola Adelek as an affirmation of the wishes and aspirations of the people.

“The will of the people of Osun State as expressed by the election of Governor Adelec must be respected. As a law-abiding party, the PDP will explore all available legal means to win back our party’s victory.

“The PDP charges the people of Osun State to remain calm, remain alert and continue to support Governor Adeleke as we reaffirm our confidence in the institution of the judiciary to deliver justice in this matter in the Court of Appeal.”
