Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi as “the greatest player of his life.”
Klopp also admitted that he is happy to see Argentina win the 2022 World Cup.
With Messi adding the title that has so far eluded him, the German feels he has snagged the goat’s crown ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Argentina deserves it. When you watch the team and the country celebrate, the country probably hit hard times.
“I’m really happy for them, they’ve waited so long.
“The greatest footballer of my life, Lionel Messi, the way he plays football at this age should give an indication of how long footballers can perform at the highest level,” Klopp told reporters.
