Albert Einstein Hospital issued a statement insisting that Brazilian soccer legend, Pele, responded to treatment for a respiratory infection.
They also deny that the 82-year-old’s health has worsened in the past 24 hours.
Part of it read: “He is still undergoing treatment and his health condition is stable.
“He is responding well to care for a respiratory infection, and his condition has not changed in the past 24 hours.”
Pele, who has been in hospital since Tuesday, is undergoing treatment for cancer.
The hospital added that Pele is receiving antibiotics to treat the infection, in addition to undergoing chemotherapy against cancer.
In September 2021, Pele’s colon polyp was removed and he was hospitalized and discharged.
The hospital issues a new update on Pele’s health
