Ekpe Ogbo, the kidnapped Benue State Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, has regained his freedom.
State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Catherine Anini confirmed the commissioner’s release on Tuesday evening on the command’s media platform.
It was reported earlier that the kidnappers opened talks and demanded a ransom of 5 million naira.
The commissioner was said to have been kidnapped at the Adankari junction along the Otukpo-Ado road on Saturday.
Retrieved by police in Otokpo on Saturday, the state government, which made it clear that the Hilux in which the victim was traveling, vowed to rescue the commissioner unharmed.
