The mid-term break begins in Lagos schools on 24 February

The Lagos Government has directed schools to observe the mid-term break for the academic session of the second semester of 2022/2023 academic session.

Director General, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Abiola Siriki Ayene revealed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The directive follows the revised Harmonized Calendar approved by the Education Commissioner, Folashade Adefisayo.

Abiola Seriki Ayene said the recess begins on Friday, February 24 and applies to all public and private schools in the state.

“This compliance is mandatory for all schools below the high standard, while emergency preparations and safety precautions must be in place,” he said.

Holiday ends on March 3, while school resumes on March 6; Boarding school students will return on March 5.

The statement advised schools and parents to follow government social media for updated information.

The federal and state governments have wrangled over academic schedules because of the February 11th and March 11th elections.
