Former Chelsea defender William Gallas says Arsenal will win the 2022-23 Premier League title largely because of the World Cup in Qatar.
Going global, Arsenal lead the Premier League table by winning 12 times out of 14 matches.
They are also five points ahead of champions Manchester City after the first half of the season.
Club football returns on Boxing Day as Arsenal host West Ham in the Emirates.
“I think the World Cup can help Arsenal win the title,” Gallas told Genting Casino.
“If you compare Arsenal and Manchester City, Arsenal have ten players who will go to World Cups and out of those ten players, maybe four of them will start in their international teams.
“Manchester City have sixteen players going – almost all of their first team will be there – and nine or ten of them will start every game for their country.
Gallas said no one knows how the players will feel after the Qatari tournament but insisted Mikel Arteta’s side have a better chance of lifting the trophy.
The last time Arsenal won the Premier League was in the 2003-04 season under Arsene Wenger.
In doing so, Arsenal made history, becoming the first Premier League club to complete an entire season without losing a single match.
