The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, came under heavy criticism for congratulating Nigerian President-elect, Paula Tinubu, who won the presidential elections last Saturday 2023.
While congratulating Tinubu, Zelensky said, in a tweet on his Twitter account on Thursday, that his country is ready to work with Nigeria to overcome global challenges, including threats to food security.
He tweeted: “Congratulations @officialABAT on winning the election as President of Nigeria. I look forward to your close cooperation. I am convinced that the interaction is two-way 🇺🇦 and will be strengthened. Ukraine is determined to work together to overcome global challenges, including threats to food security! “
However, some Twitter users, mostly Nigerians, trolled Zelensky for tweeting congratulations to Tinubu, while others supported the Ukrainian president.
