Transfer: Jorginho made a shock move to Chelsea’s EPL rivals
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho could move to Newcastle in January with his contract expiring in the summer, according to SportsMail.
The 31-year-old has made more than 130 appearances for the Blues since joining from Napoli in 2018.
But Jorginho’s current deal is only valid until the end of the current season and Graham Potter’s Chelsea are looking to reduce their squad’s average age.
It could leave Newcastle in a position to secure the Euro 2020 title-winner without having to pay a transfer fee to their Premier League rivals.
As part of an overhaul at Stamford Bridge under new owner Todd Bohle, the club was focused on investing in young players.
This will come at the expense of the older and more experienced.
