Ligue 1 club Lorient have rejected a £15m bid from Premier League club Southampton for striker Terem Moffi.
According to Skysports TV, Lorient is willing to sell the Nigeria international but wants more money.
Southampton are desperate to boost their attack during the current window and are keen to bring Mouffey to St Mary’s.
The Saints are currently bottom of the table and believe that Movies’ goals can get them out of relegation trouble.
A number of other Premier League clubs, including West Ham United, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion, are also reported to be interested in the Nigeria international.
The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in 16 league games for Lorient this season.
