Details of a new conversation between Chelsea and N’Golo Kante regarding the midfielder have emerged.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the France international is over 50-50 at Stamford Bridge.
The club hierarchy have held fresh talks with the player’s representatives about his future as his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Chelsea are keen to keep him at the club and want him to sign reduced terms at Stamford Bridge.
The 31-year-old Frenchman is currently Stamford’s highest-earning player at £300,000-a-week and is willing to take a reduced wage.
However, he is not satisfied with the length of the deal he was offered – two years.
New defender Kalidou Koulibaly, 31, was awarded a four-year contract at the club just five months ago.
Romano claims Kante “loves” the club and is willing to stay, but it depends on the proposal.
Kante is said to be an over 50-something at the club and is open-minded about entering talks.
