Transfer boss Fabrizio Romano has given the latest update on a possible next move for Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets.
According to Romano, Busquets is attracting interest from MLS club Inter Miami as his current contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the season.
He also said that Busquets remains an integral part of Barcelona under coach Xavi Hernandez.
However, Busquets is looking to call it time in his Camp Nou career due to his age.
The veteran midfielder has made 16 appearances for Xavi’s men so far this season. The 34-year-old has started 15 of those games.
Amid rumors of a move away from Barcelona next summer, Romano has provided an update on Busquets’ future.
He said (via CaughtOffside), “Xavi is very happy with Sergio Busquets. He is convinced he can do well for the club for another season, but that also depends on Busquets. A decision will be made in 2023, not now.”
“There is a chance for him to continue for another year as Xavi will push for it, but Busquets also has proposals from MLS.”
