Nigerian police forces have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Kogi state.

A statement issued by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ofi Aya on Friday said the suspects were involved in the kidnapping of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman from Kogi East, Yahya Shagari.

Aya said, “The joint security forces, led by District Commander Alexander Asagadi, stormed the hideout of the suspected kidnappers in the bushes, and upon seeing the elements, the attackers engaged them in a duel of firearms. One suspect was then neutralized and two others were arrested while the victim was rescued unharmed. .

“The operation was successful after obtaining reliable information about the suspected kidnappers’ hideout in the bush.”

He noted that the Kogi State Police Commissioner, S. B. Akim Youssef, he commended the area commander and the joint security forces for their courage during the operation, and urged them to continue the continuous attack on the criminals in their area of ​​responsibility.

Aya assured the audience of the leadership’s level of commitment to cooperating with other security agencies in the country to ensure adequate security of lives and property.
