The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has stated that it has not apologized to former Cross Rivers Governor Donald Duke for the misuse of his image in a documentary about the Cross Rivers presidential candidate. APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The Council’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, explained in a statement released on Monday that the alleged statement currently circulating and attributed to him was not issued by him.
He insisted that the Campaign Council had not issued any statement on behalf of Tinubu to apologize to Duke.
Onanoga therefore urged the media and members of the public to ignore the statement as fake news intended to create confusion and mislead the public.
He said: “A press release currently circulating attributable to the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, has been brought to our attention.
In the aforementioned statement, Mr. Onanuga is reported to have apologized to Mr. Donald Duke for the misuse of his image in a documentary on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We want to state categorically that the APC’s Directorate of Information and Publicity of the Presidential Campaign Council did not authorize said statement and that Mr. Onanuga did not issue any statement on behalf of the Campaign Council and our director, Asiwaju Tinubu today.”
