Professor Emeka Eziyono, a former official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that the 2023 elections cannot be rigged.
The one-time Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Imo on Wednesday spoke at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Gala in Oka, Anambra.
Izono urged Nigerians to obtain Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and fulfill their civic responsibility in the coming year.
The former Electoral Council believes that the amended election law makes fraud impossible.
“The BVAS approval has narrowed the gaps in card readers, making voters more confident that their votes will make an impact,” he said.
But Eziyono urged journalists to always be professional in their investigative reporting.
Professor Stella Okuna, a professor of mass communication, advised the media to be morally balanced.
