World Cup: Four coaches revealed to replace Gareth Southgate as England manager

The names of four managers have been revealed to replace Gareth Southgate as England coach.

According to The Telegraph, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers and Steve Holland are on the Football Association’s shortlist of potential candidates to replace Southgate if he breaks the wishes of the country’s football body and steps down.

Southgate’s contract runs until after Euro 2024, but he admitted after England’s exit from the 2022 World Cup that he was thinking about his future.

Southgate’s side shone in Qatar before losing 2-1 to World Cup holders France.

Asked about his future as England head coach after his side’s exit, Southgate said he would take his time before making any decisions.

“I think we’ve sat down after every tournament and gone over it and thought about it,” Southgate said in his post-match press conference.
