Rio Ferdinand has paid tribute to Croatian star Josko Guardiol, who is being targeted by Chelsea.
He described the Croatian’s Ferdinand as his favorite defender at the World Cup, adding that he has “all the qualities” he needs to be a modern defender.
The 20-year-old played a key role for his team in the knockout stages of the World Cup.
The RB Leipzig defender was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer but his club reportedly rejected the £77m offered by the Blues.
The player suggested last week that he was still open to a move to Stamford Bridge and Ferdinand told the BBC, “I have to say, he’s been my favorite defender to watch in the Championship so far,
“Also, aggressiveness. He is willing to step forward, that youth, that courage…”
