Super Falcons fullback, Ashley Plumptree is hoping to return to full play early next year.
The centre-back sustained a hamstring injury in Leicester City’s 8-0 defeat by Chelsea last weekend.
Plumbtree is now expected to be sidelined for the remainder of this year.
The 23-year-old took to social media to thank her fans for their support, noting that she is fully focused on getting back on the field of play.
“Slight injury but I’m fully focused on coming back in the new year
Thank you to the fans who continue to come, show up and support.
Words are words, I know, but the shared passion is there,” she tweeted.
Plumptree played 14 league matches for the Foxes this season.
Willie Kirk’s side are yet to win the Women’s Premier League this season.
