Yes, I’m stingy, but frugal with money – Opie

Peter Obi, the Labor presidential candidate, has revealed that his no-nonsense stance on public finances is mistaken for miserliness.

As a stingy man, Obi said that the country would be more secure in his hands and that he would be able to invest in the economy, education, health and other areas to improve the nation.

The Democratic Party’s presidential candidate made this statement in Akure, the capital of Ondo state on Saturday as he sought people’s support ahead of the February 25 poll.

He claimed that unlike other people whose real names, schools they attended, and lineage could not be traced back, he and his running mate, Senator Ahmet Dati, were people with traceable backgrounds.

They said I’m stingy, we want stingy people now, so we can keep the money. We want to make sure we use your money to change the country.

“This election is about character and people we can trust. Everyone knows the schools my running mate and I attended. You all know our era, our schools and everything about us.”

He claimed that with the SWP in charge, the nation would be safer because “the whole of Nigeria is insecure, and people are living in agony and famine.

Nigeria needs stability and unity. Nigeria needs to move from consumption to production.”
